There's no question about it: Establishing a management system across multiple locations is no easy task. And yet, cross-location process documentation in joint software is worthwhile in order to save yourself the need to maintain multiple — possibly redundant — systems and work together more efficiently. question However, this is the right keyword in this context. Because there are at least 5 of them that you should ask yourself if you want to set up or expand a cross-location management system in your company!

1. How do I fully present my company in the management system?

The correct keyword is here Process map. So first, consider your business model and think about how best to use your process map in Core processes, supporting processes and management processes subdivided. The challenge here is that the various locations usually have different process maps. After all, a pure production site usually has different processes than the headquarters. The solution: An individual process map for each location, which contains the general work processes and guidelines of the head office at a higher level.

2. Which processes are valid for everyone and which only apply to certain areas?

Consider which global structures and processes apply to everyone and which local processes each individual location has. Finally, you want to make sure that Cross-site (process) knowledge available to everyone is. This saves you the hassle of maintaining multiple systems and establishing best practices across the Group more quickly.

3. How do global processes reach all locations?

Here you need to answer a few organizational questions first: Who is responsible for the generally applicable processes, how do you check process compliance and who is responsible for process optimization? Once all of this has been clarified, is a Interactive management system to communicate generally applicable guidelines to all locations and to return the good experience and suggestions of individual employees to the respective process managers.

4. Does rights management make sense for local processes?

Let's imagine that we have a process that must follow group-wide guidelines, but at the same time has local characteristics. This specific case concerns personnel processes, for example, which often vary depending on the country and location. Here you should think about who can see which information — and Protect sensitive processes through appropriate rights management.

5. What should the approval workflow look like?

The biggest success factor of a multi-site management system is also the biggest stumbling block. We're talking about communication! When should who how be informed about changes in the system, and who then releases them? The best way to regulate all this is via an approval workflow, which you follow your individual requirements defined.
