The motto of Schweitzer-Chemie GmbH is: Water is our life. With passion and team spirit, this medium-sized company has been delivering comprehensive solutions for water treatment since 2001. Combining technical and chemical products with expert service, Schweitzer-Chemie ensures that its customers' systems operate reliably and efficiently.
Before 2019, our documentation — and the documents themselves — were stored in various places: sometimes centrally, but often on local drives within different departments. Our management handbook was not process-oriented, but organized by topics.
This made important information difficult to find, led to redundant documentation of the same topics, and created unclear interfaces between departments.
After a few years of working this way, it became evident that we needed to manage the growing volume of company information more systematically. We set out to maintain all regulations in one central location, making it easier to keep everything up to date.
And we had a clear vision for our next step:
We wanted to move away from siloed, departmental thinking and toward cross-functional process thinking, with clearly defined interfaces between organizational units.
For our new management system, we were looking for innovative yet easy-to-use software. Q.wiki fully convinced us in every respect!
We were especially impressed by its familiar "Wikipedia-like" design and full-text search functionality, which makes it extremely easy to find information using the right keywords. And the ability to clearly map our processes within the system was exactly what we needed.
Another major advantage: the great collaboration with the young and dynamic team at Modell Aachen. Their consultants tailored the implementation to our needs, supporting both the technical rollout and the employee engagement process — an essential contribution to creating a living, dynamic management system.
Success with Q.wiki
We started by documenting our processes, work instructions, and other essential information in Q.wiki. Step by step, we expanded our process management by integrating additional modules.
Today, we successfully use our Interactive Management System for:
The greatest value Q.wiki has brought to our company is that all of our documentation is now centralized and process-oriented.
All relevant information is interlinked, so we can quickly access the required process description — including any cross-departmental interfaces.
The simple approval workflow allows us to flexibly adapt and update processes — keeping everything current and audit-ready at all times.
What’s more, the external perspective from Modell Aachen continues to provide valuable input for optimizing and streamlining our processes.
“Q.wiki was the ideal introduction to knowledge and process management on a broad basis for us.”
“It is not certificates that carry out the processes successfully — it is the employees. And 86% of the workforce is in our management system every month.”
“In the past, regulatory processes and the like were a necessary evil. Now there is real added value for the workforce.”
